What is AWC OKC?
AWC is a professional association for women in communication disciplines, such as marketing, advertising, public relations, and journalism who demonstrate leadership and professional development and live in the Oklahoma City metro area.

In addition to the many networking opportunities available with other communicators, you can attend the annual conference and enter the annual Clarion competition at a discounted member rate. You can contribute to the monthly newsletter, participate in our affinity programs, hear from guest speakers each month, and connect with other professional women in the Oklahoma City metro. What are the Byliners?
The Association for Women in Communication’s Annual Byliner Awards program and dinner recognizes the accomplishments of women who have made a significant contribution to our community through their professional and volunteer achievements.
What is the cost of an AWC membership?

I am a graduate student in communications part-time. Can I qualify for the student rate?
No. The Student rate is only available to full-time students in undergraduate or graduate degree programs. Doctoral candidates are not eligible for the student rate regardless of whether they are full-time or part-time.
With what frequency does AWC meet?
The Oklahoma City chapter of AWC meets the second Tuesday of every month at 11:30 a.m. at the Will Rogers Theatre in the Oklahoma City metro. What are communication disciplines AWC accepts?
Some communication disciplines that would qualify for AWC memberships are marketing, public relations, advertising, journalism, and writing.
Does the AWC offer scholarships for women?
Yes. Each Spring, AWC members host a breakfast to award the scholarships for women in a communication field, such as marketing, public relations, advertising, journalism, and many others.
